                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), entitled "An
     2     act consolidating and revising the Vehicle Code, the Tractor
     3     Code, the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Act and
     4     other acts relating to the ownership, possession and use of
     5     vehicles and tractors," requiring mirrors on motorcycles.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 848, act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58,
     9  No.32), known as "The Vehicle Code," added July 15, 1968
    10  (P.L.332, No.162), is amended to read:
    11     Section 848.  Handle Bars and Clip-on Bars and Mirrors on
    12  Motorcycles.--No person shall operate a motorcycle on the
    13  highways where the highest point on the handle bars on the
    14  motorcycle is more than fifteen (15) inches higher than the
    15  plane of the saddle or where it is equipped with clip-on bars
    16  and unless it is equipped with at least one (1) rearview mirror
    17  attached to the left handle bar.
    18     Penalty.--Any person violating the provisions of this section
    19  shall, upon summary conviction before a magistrate, be sentenced


     1  to pay a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars ($25.00) and
     2  costs of prosecution, and, in default of the payment thereof,
     3  shall undergo imprisonment for not more than ten (10) days.
