AN ACT 1 Amending the act of June 1, 1933 (P.L.1172, No.290), entitled 2 "An act establishing certain streets in boroughs and 3 incorporated towns as State highways, and providing for their 4 construction and maintenance at the expense of the 5 Commonwealth," deleting certain routes in Wind Gap Borough, 6 Northampton County AND ADDING A ROUTE IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY <-- 7 AND MAKING A REPEAL. 8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 9 hereby enacts as follows: 10 Section 1. The following routes established by section 2, 11 act of June 1, 1933 (P.L.1172, No.290), entitled "An act 12 establishing certain streets in boroughs and incorporated towns 13 as State highways, and providing for their construction and 14 maintenance at the expense of the Commonwealth," and its 15 amendments are deleted as indicated. 16 NORTHAMPTON COUNTY 17 * * * 18 Wind Gap Borough 19 * * * 20 [Route 165 Spur.--Beginning at a point on Route 165, at Alpha
1 Road and Lehigh Avenue, thence over Alpha Road to Route 165, at 2 Alpha Road and Broadway in the Borough of Wind Gap, a distance 3 of about 0.43 of a mile.] 4 * * * 5 [Route 48127.--Beginning at the intersection of Third Street 6 (Legislative Route 48039) and Chestnut Street; thence in a 7 generally northeasterly direction over Chestnut Street to its 8 intersection with Fifth Street and Lehigh Avenue, thence 9 continuing in a northeasterly direction over Lehigh Avenue to 10 its intersection with Park Avenue (Legislative Route 165), a 11 distance of approximately 0.41 mile in the Borough of Wind Gap, 12 Northampton County.] 13 * * * 14 SECTION 2. THE ACT IS AMENDED BY ADDING THE FOLLOWING ROUTE <-- 15 IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY: 16 WESTMORELAND COUNTY 17 NEW STANTON BOROUGH 18 ROUTE . BEGINNING AT THE INTERSECTION OF LEGISLATIVE 19 ROUTE 117 AND LEGISLATIVE ROUTE 64125; THENCE IN A NORTHERLY 20 DIRECTION OVER FORMER TOWNSHIP ROAD 678, NOW A BOROUGH STREET; 21 THENCE IN A NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION TO THE INTERSECTION WITH 22 BYER'S AVENUE; THENCE IN A NORTHERLY DIRECTION TO FORMER 23 TOWNSHIP ROAD 539, NOW A BOROUGH STREET; THENCE IN A 24 NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION TO THE INTERSECTION OF LEGISLATIVE ROUTE 25 64110 IN THE BOROUGH OF NEW STANTON, WESTMORELAND COUNTY, A 26 DISTANCE OF ABOUT .8 OF A MILE. 27 SECTION 3. SECTION 65, ACT OF JUNE 22, 1931 (P.L.594, 28 NO.203), ENTITLED "AN ACT ESTABLISHING CERTAIN TOWNSHIP ROADS AS 29 STATE HIGHWAYS; AUTHORIZING THEIR CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND 30 IMPROVEMENT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS; LIMITING 19750H0190B1921 - 2 -
1 THE OBLIGATION OF THE COMMONWEALTH IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF
2 CERTAIN STRUCTURES LOCATED ON SUCH HIGHWAYS; CONFERRING CERTAIN
3 POWERS UPON THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES,
4 PERSONS, ASSOCIATIONS AND CORPORATIONS FOR SHARING THE COST OF
5 THE MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION OF SUCH HIGHWAYS; AND MAKING AN
6 APPROPRIATION TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF SAID ACT," IS
7 REPEALED IN SO FAR AS IT RELATES TO ROUTE 64211.
8 Section 2 4. This act shall take effect immediately. <--
