        AS AMENDED ON THIRD CONSIDERATION, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
           MARCH 19, 1975

                                     AN ACT

     1  Authorizing volunteer fire, AMBULANCE AND RESCUE companies and    <--
     2     members thereof to enter State premises to fight fire under
     3     certain conditions; and providing for legal advice from the
     4     Attorney General for such persons in certain cases.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  When requested by a State officer or his deputy
     8  serving as custodian of the premises, a volunteer fire,
     9  AMBULANCE AND RESCUE company or any member thereof is authorized  <--
    10  to enter Commonwealth-owned premises for the purpose of fighting
    11  a fire.
    12     Section 2.  The Attorney General shall provide free legal
    13  assistance to any volunteer fire, AMBULANCE AND RESCUE company    <--
    14  or fireman MEMBER THEREOF who has entered State lands and         <--
    15  premises for the purpose of fighting a fire when such volunteer   <--
    16  fireman or fire company FIRE, AMBULANCE OR RESCUE COMPANY OR      <--
    17  MEMBER THEREOF is joined as a defendant in any civil action
    18  arising out of the performance of his or its duty under this act

     1  in fighting a fire after entering State premises on proper
     2  request.
     3     Section 3.  The provisions of this act shall be retroactive
     4  to January 1, 1974.
     5     Section 4.  This act shall take effect immediately.
