AN ACT
1 Amending the act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), entitled "An
2 act consolidating and revising the Vehicle Code, the Tractor
3 Code, the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Act and
4 other acts relating to the ownership, possession and use of
5 vehicles and tractors," requiring the erection of warning
6 signs for certain bridges.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), known
10 as "The Vehicle Code," is amended by adding a section to read:
11 Section 1111.1. Erection of Warning Signs for Certain
12 Bridges.--The Secretary of Transportation or other State or
13 local authority having jurisdiction over bridges the surface of
14 which is constructed of metal grating, shall erect a sign
15 stating the nature of the bridge surface on each approach to the
16 bridge at least five hundred (500) feet from the bridge or, if
17 such distance is inappropriate under the circumstances, at such
18 other location as will give adequate advance warning of the
19 nature of the bridge surface.
20 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
