AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," providing for a modified schedule of
6 subsidy payments to school districts.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 2517, act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30,
10 No.14), known as the "Public School Code of 1949," amended
11 August 18, 1971 (P.L.339, No.88), is amended to read:
12 Section 2517. [Quarterly] Tertiary Payments.--The amount
13 apportioned and allotted to each school district shall be
14 divided into [quarterly installments] three payments and the
15 Secretary of Education shall draw his requisition [quarterly]
16 three times annually upon the State Treasurer in favor of each
17 district for the amount to which it is entitled. The first
18 [three quarterly payments] two payments shall be estimates based
19 on but not to exceed [twenty-five percent (25%)] thirty percent
20 (30%) each of the total amount apportioned and allocated to the
1 school district during the previous school year for the same
2 purposes. The final [quarterly] payment shall be the balance of
3 the apportionment due for the applicable school year. Payment
4 thereof shall be made to all school districts during the months
5 of [August,] November, February and May of each year.
6 Notwithstanding any other provisions of this act, this
7 section shall apply to payments which a school district is
8 entitled under any provision of sections 2502, 2592, 2502.3 or
9 2502.4.
