                                     AN ACT

     1  Requiring notice of rate increases and policy cancellations by
     2     property and casualty insurers.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Notice requirement.
     6     Notwithstanding any other provision of law, all property or
     7  casualty insurers in this Commonwealth shall give 30 days'
     8  notice of intent to increase an insured's premiums, 60 days'
     9  notice of intent to cancel an insured's policy and 30 days'
    10  notice of intent to cancel an insured's policy with cause prior
    11  to the termination date of that policy. Such notice shall be
    12  given both to the insured and to the insured's agent.
    13  Section 2.  Revocation of license.
    14     Any insurer violating the provisions of this act shall have
    15  its license to do business in this State revoked for a period of
    16  not less than six months.
    17  Section 3.  Effective date.


     1     This act shall take effect immediately.
