REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 25, 2008
AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
8 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
9 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
10 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal
11 year July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2009, for the purposes and in the
12 amounts shown:
13 Federal State
14 For the salaries, wages and all
15 necessary expenses for the proper
16 operation and administration of the
17 Pennsylvania Public Utility
1 Commission, including the chairman and
2 commissioners and the Bureau of Safety
3 and Enforcement.
4 State appropriation........ 52,162,000
5 The following Federal augmentation
6 amounts, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically
8 appropriated to supplement the sum
9 authorized to be billed to utilities
10 for the operation of the commission:
11 (1) "Natural Gas Pipeline
12 Safety" - To enforce the
13 regulations of the Natural Gas
14 Pipeline Safety Act.
15 Federal appropriation...... 630,000
16 (2) "Motor Carrier Safety."
17 Federal appropriation...... 1,934,000
18 Any Federal funds which the
19 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
20 receives pursuant to these
21 appropriations shall not be reimbursed
22 to any utility.
23 FOR CONSUMER EDUCATION PROGRAMS. <--
24 STATE APPROPRIATION........ 5,000,000
25 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2008, or
26 immediately, whichever is later.
