AN ACT
1 Authorizing the Department of General Services, with the
2 approval of the Department of Public Welfare, to lease to the
3 Lehigh County Housing Authority 1.7578 acres of land at
4 Allentown State Hospital, Lehigh County.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The Department of General Services, with the
8 approval of the Department of Public Welfare, acting on behalf
9 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, hereby authorized to lease
10 to the Lehigh County Housing Authority for an annual rental of
11 $1 for a period of 55 years, the following described premises:
12 All that certain lot or tract of land lying on the south side
13 of East Gordon Street as shown on the plan of property for
14 Valley Housing Development Corporation, prepared by Martin H.
15 Schuler Company, Engineers and Surveyors, situate in the 15th
16 Ward, and more particularly described as follows:
17 Beginning at a concrete monument along southern property line
18 of East Gordon Street (40.00 feet wide) said point being located
1 289.13 feet west of intersection of the southern property line
2 of East Gordon Street and the western property line of North
3 Oswego Street (30.00 feet wide) extended; thence, extending
4 along the southern property line of East Gordon Street south 86
5 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds east 289.13 feet to a point;
6 thence, extending along lands now or late of Allentown State
7 Hospital south 03 degrees 48 minutes 00 seconds west 256.51 feet
8 to a point; thence, extending along lands now or late of
9 Allentown State Hospital north 84 degrees 39 minutes 21 seconds
10 west 316.37 feet to a point; thence extending along lands now or
11 late of Old Forge Corporation and lands now or late of Jeffrey
12 Rehfuss north 10 degrees 01 minutes 09 seconds east 250.47 feet
13 to the place of beginning.
14 Containing: 1.7578 acres.
15 Section 2. The lease shall grant the lessee, the Lehigh
16 County Housing Authority, the right to sublease the above
17 described premises to construct and operate 20 units of housing
18 for persons with serious mental illness.
19 Section 3. The lease agreement shall be executed by the
20 Department of General Services, with the approval of the
21 Department of Public Welfare, in the name of the Commonwealth
22 and shall be contingent upon and subject to the terms,
23 conditions and provisions as agreed upon by the affected
24 parties.
25 Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
