AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Public Welfare to
2 provide shelter and counseling for victims of domestic
3 violence.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The sum of $1,500,000 is hereby appropriated to
7 the Department of Public Welfare for the fiscal year July 1,
8 1989, to June 30, 1990, to provide emergency and long-term
9 shelter and counseling to victims of domestic violence in this
10 Commonwealth.
11 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1989, or
12 immediately, whichever is later.
