                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
     2     act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
     3     welfare laws of the Commonwealth," further providing for
     4     eligibility for and amount of State blind pensions.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Clause (3) of section 506 and section 507, act of
     8  June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known as the "Public Welfare
     9  Code," amended December 26, 1974 (P.L.991, No.324), are amended
    10  to read:
    11     Section 506.  Eligibility.--The department shall provide a
    12  State blind pension to any blind person who:

    14     (3)  Has actual annual income of his own of less than [three
    15  thousand six hundred dollars ($3600)] four thousand two hundred
    16  dollars ($4200);
    17     * * *
    18     Section 507.  Amount of Pension.--Except as provided for


     1  payment for nursing home care, the amount paid after the
     2  effective date of this act to an eligible blind person having
     3  actual annual income of his own of [two thousand five hundred
     4  eighty dollars ($2580)] three thousand sixty dollars ($3060) or
     5  less shall be [eighty-five dollars ($85)] ninety-five dollars
     6  ($95) monthly, and the monthly amount paid to any other eligible
     7  blind person shall be fixed in such amount that the sum of his
     8  actual annual income and State blind pension equals [three
     9  thousand six hundred dollars ($3600)] four thousand two hundred
    10  dollars ($4,200) a year.
    11     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
