                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for the offense of driving under
     3     foreign license during suspension or revocation.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Sections 1573 and 6503 of Title 75 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:
     8  § 1573.  [Driving under] Displaying a foreign license during
     9             suspension or revocation.
    10     (a)  General rule.--Any resident or nonresident whose
    11  operating privilege to drive a motor vehicle in this
    12  Commonwealth has been recalled, canceled, suspended or revoked
    13  as provided in this title shall not [drive a motor vehicle in
    14  this Commonwealth under] display a license or permit issued by
    15  any other jurisdiction or otherwise during the suspension or
    16  after the recall, cancellation or revocation until [a new
    17  driver's license is obtained when and as permitted under this
    18  chapter.] the person's operating privilege has been restored by

     1  the department.
     2     (b)  Penalty.--Any person who violates subsection (a) commits
     3  a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to
     4  pay a fine of $200.
     5     (c)  Prosecutions cumulative.--Prosecution of a person under
     6  this section shall not preclude prosecution and conviction of
     7  the same person under section 1543 (relating to driving while
     8  operating privilege is suspended or revoked).
     9  § 6503.  Subsequent convictions of certain offenses.
    10     Every person convicted of a second or subsequent violation of
    11  any of the following provisions commits a summary offense and
    12  shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $200 nor more
    13  than $1,000 or to imprisonment for not more than six months, or
    14  both:
    15         Section 1501(a) (relating to drivers required to be
    16     licensed).
    17         Section 1543 (relating to driving while operating
    18     privilege is suspended or revoked).
    19         Section 1573 (relating to displaying a foreign license
    20     during suspension or revocation).
    21         Section 3367 (relating to racing on highways).
    22         Section 3733 (relating to fleeing or attempting to elude
    23     police officer).
    24         Section 3734 (relating to driving without lights to avoid
    25     identification or arrest).
    26         Section 3748 (relating to false reports).
    27     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
