AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," further providing for special
6 education payments to school districts.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 2509.5 of the act of March 10, 1949
10 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is
11 amended by adding a subsection to read:
12 Section 2509.5. Special Education Payments to School
13 Districts.--* * *
14 (gg) During the 2001-2002 school year and each school year
15 thereafter, each school district shall be paid:
16 (1) an amount to be determined by multiplying fifteen
17 percent (15%) of its school-age population residing in the
18 district by one thousand three hundred fifteen dollars ($1,315);
19 and
1 (2) an amount to be determined by multiplying one percent
2 (1%) of its school-age population residing in the district by
3 fourteen thousand five hundred thirty-five dollars ($14,535).
4 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
