SENATE RESOLUTION

                            A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing the acceptance of a gift of land from E. I. Du Pont
     2     de Nemours and Company along White Clay Creek in Chester
     3     County, Pennsylvania, for use as a park in concert with the
     4     State of Delaware accepting a similar gift in New Castle
     5     County, Delaware; and further supporting a bistate advisory
     6     body.

     7     WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of
     8  Delaware desire to create a bistate park along White Clay Creek
     9  in said states; and
    10     WHEREAS, E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company owns
    11  approximately 1,234 acres of land along White Clay Creek in
    12  Chester County, Pennsylvania, and approximately 528 acres of
    13  land, contiguous with aforesaid land, in New Castle County,
    14  Delaware, which it desires to donate to the respective states in
    15  perpetuity for the park for low intensity outdoor recreational
    16  use of the citizens of Pennsylvania and Delaware; therefore be
    17  it
    18     RESOLVED (the House of Representatives concurring), That the
    19  General Assembly hereby supports the acceptance, by the


     1  Department of Environmental Resources for the Commonwealth, of a
     2  gift from E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company of approximately
     3  1,234 acres of land along White Clay Creek in Chester County,
     4  Pennsylvania, for use in perpetuity as a park for low intensity
     5  outdoor recreational use to be administered by the Department of
     6  Environmental Resources or its designee and to be known as the
     7  White Clay Creek Preserve, it being understood that the General
     8  Assembly of Delaware intends to pass a resolution similar to
     9  this; and be it further
    10     RESOLVED, That the General Assembly hereby supports the
    11  establishment of a bistate advisory body, composed of members
    12  from the Commonwealth and the State of Delaware, who shall be
    13  appointed, respectively, by the Secretary of Environmental
    14  Resources of the Commonwealth and his counterpart in the State
    15  of Delaware, to advise the respective states as to recreation
    16  and conservation within the park.
