A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
1 Directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to review
2 and evaluate the direct refund and steering practices of
3 insurance companies and the Insurance Department's review and
4 regulation of those practices and to submit a report.
5 WHEREAS, There is concern regarding the direct refund and
6 steering practices of insurance companies conducting business in
7 this Commonwealth and the Insurance Department's review and
8 regulation of those practices; and
9 WHEREAS, It is appropriate to review and evaluate those
10 practices by insurance companies and the performance of the
11 Insurance Department in connection with those practices;
12 therefore be it
13 RESOLVED (the House of Representatives concurring), That the
14 Legislative Budget and Finance Committee review and evaluate the
15 direct refund and steering practices of insurance companies and
16 the Insurance Department's review and regulation of those
17 practices; and be it further
18 RESOLVED, That the committee submit a report to the General
1 Assembly on or before December 1, 1999, consisting of its review
2 and evaluation of the insurance companies and the Insurance
3 Department, together with any recommendations for any
4 legislation, regulations or administrative changes.
