                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for eligibility for
     3     tuition credits.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 3104(a) of Title 51 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 3104.  Tuition credit.
     9     (a)  Eligibility.--A [nontechnician] member of the
    10  Pennsylvania National Guard in an enlisted grade, warrant
    11  officer, WO1 or WO2, or officers in the rank of second
    12  lieutenant or first lieutenant after completing a minimum
    13  enlistment period as defined by the guard, who enrolls in a
    14  Pennsylvania institution of higher learning, with degree
    15  granting status as approved by the Department of Education,
    16  shall receive a grant of one-half the cost of the credit, with a


     1  maximum of $40 per credit while satisfactorily enrolled, with a
     2  maximum of six credits per quarter or semester or 12 credits per
     3  year.
