AN ACT 1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An 2 act relating to the public school system, including certain 3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial 4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the 5 laws relating thereto," requiring certain reports of crimes 6 of violence. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Section 1301-A of the act of March 10, 1949 10 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is 11 amended by adding definitions to read: 12 Section 1301-A. Definitions.--As used in this article, 13 "Act of violence" shall mean a murder or any criminal 14 homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, rape, involuntary 15 deviate sexual intercourse, arson, kidnapping, robbery, 16 terroristic threats, harassment, stalking, possession of a 17 weapon on school property, possession of an offensive weapon,
1 possession of an instrument of crime or robbery of a motor 2 vehicle or criminal attempt, criminal conspiracy or criminal 3 solicitation to commit any of the offenses listed above. 4 "Local law enforcement" shall mean the police agency with 5 primary jurisdiction over the school property on which a 6 reportable incident occurs. 7 * * * 8 Section 2. Section 1303-A of the act is amended by adding a 9 subsection to read: 10 Section 1303-A. Reporting.--* * * 11 (d) Each school entity shall, within forty-eight (48) hours 12 of its occurrence, make an incident report of an act of violence 13 to the appropriate local law enforcement agency, on a form 14 prescribed by the Pennsylvania State Police. 15 Section 3.
