| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 61 (Prisons and Parole) of the Pennsylvania |
2 | Consolidated Statutes, providing for medical assistance. |
3 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
4 | hereby enacts as follows: |
5 | Section 1. Title 61 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
6 | Statutes is amended by adding a section to read: |
7 | § 3308. Medical assistance. |
8 | For each inmate who, at the time of incarceration, is |
9 | eligible for the program under Article IV(f) of the act of June |
10 | 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known as the Public Welfare Code, a |
11 | chief administrative officer shall cooperate with the Department |
12 | of Public Welfare to do one of the following: |
13 | (1) Maintain the inmate's eligibility during |
14 | incarceration. |
15 | (2) Suspend, rather than terminate, the inmate's |
16 | eligibility during incarceration and restore eligibility upon |
17 | release. |
18 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
