AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," further providing for semi-annual
6 checks on school bus operators' licenses.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
10 as the "Public School Code of 1949," is amended by adding a
11 section to read:
12 Section 1365.1. Semi-annual License Review.--(a) Each
13 school district shall in September and February of each school
14 year submit to the Department of Transportation a complete list
15 of all school bus drivers employed by the school district or
16 employed by an operator contracting with the school district to
17 furnish pupil transportation. The list shall include the full
18 name and the license number of each school bus driver.
19 (b) The Department of Transportation shall carefully examine
1 the submitted lists to determine whether or not the operating
2 privileges of the bus driver have been suspended.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
