AN ACT
1 Imposing a two-year moratorium on the issuance of any municipal
2 solid waste permits by the Department of Environmental
3 Protection.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Moratorium imposed.
7 A two-year moratorium is imposed on the issuance of any
8 municipal solid waste permit described in section 2 by the
9 Department of Environmental Protection.
10 Section 2. Applicability.
11 The permits referred to in section 1 shall include permits
12 for new facilities, for expansion of any existing facility and
13 for the expansion or increase in the capacity of any facility.
14 Section 3. Effective date.
15 This act shall take effect in 30 days or July 1, 1998,
1 whichever is later.
