AN ACT
1 Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for display of geographic
3 location at telephone stations.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 2912.1. Display of geographic location.
9 (a) General rule.--A public utility shall clearly display
10 the geographic location of a public coin telephone station on
11 any of its public coin telephone stations for purposes of
12 identifying the location in case of an emergency.
13 (b) Information in Spanish.--The information described in
14 subsection (a) shall also be displayed in Spanish.
15 (c) Penalty.--A public utility that violates this section
16 shall be subject to a civil penalty of not more than $5,000,
17 imposed by the commission.
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
