AN ACT
1 Requiring an expiration date on all electric dry cell batteries
2 sold within the Commonwealth and providing penalties.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Date requirement.
6 All electric dry cell batteries sold at retail within the
7 Commonwealth shall bear an expiration date reasonably related to
8 the end of the shelf life of the cell.
9 Section 2. Penalties.
10 Any person who sells or offers for sale at retail an electric
11 dry cell battery which does not bear an expiration date or which
12 bears an incorrect or altered expiration date, or who sells or
13 offers for sale at retail a cell which has expired, shall be
14 guilty of a summary offense.
15 Section 3. Effective date.
16 This act shall take effect in 90 days.
