AN ACT
1 Relating to the rights of grandparents to visit their
2 grandchildren in certain cases.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The courts of common pleas of this Commonwealth
6 may, upon petition thereto for a writ of habeas corpus, grant
7 grandparents reasonable visitation rights as the court shall
8 determine with respect to their grandchildren and based upon the
9 best interests of the grandchildren, in cases where a child is
10 no longer in the custody of both parents and regardless of the
11 relationship of the grandparents to the person having custody of
12 the child.
13 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
