AN ACT 1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An 2 act relating to the public school system, including certain 3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial 4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the 5 laws relating thereto," further providing for purchases of 6 materials or supplies. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Section 511(e) of the act of March 10, 1949 10 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, 11 amended June 29, 1984 (P.L.438, No.93) is amended to read: 12 Section 511. School Athletics, Publications, and 13 Organizations.-- 14 * * * 15 [(e) All purchases of materials or supplies made by any 16 organization, club, society, or group, or by any school or 17 class, in excess of one thousand dollars, shall be made upon 18 solicitation of quotations or bids from three or more
1 responsible manufacturers of or dealers in such materials or 2 supplies. All such purchases shall be made from the lowest 3 responsible bidder on the basis of price, quality and service.] 4 (e) All purchases of materials or supplies made by any 5 organization, club, society or group, or by any school or class 6 shall be made in accordance with the requirements of section 7 807.1(a) or (a.1). 8 * * * 9 Section 2.
