AN ACT 1 Amending the act of July 19, 1917 (P.L.1117, No.378), entitled 2 "An act providing for the establishment, in cities of the 3 first class, of a house or houses of detention for witnesses 4 and untried prisoners; for the commitment of such prisoners 5 and witnesses thereto; and for the payment of the cost of 6 establishing and maintaining the same by the county wherein 7 said cities are situated," providing for frequency of 8 meetings of board of managers at the house of detention. 9 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 10 hereby enacts as follows: 11 Section 1. Section 2, act of July 19, 1917 (P.L.1117, 12 No.378), entitled "An act providing for the establishment, in 13 cities of the first class, of a house or houses of detention for 14 witnesses and untried prisoners; for the commitment of such 15 prisoners and witnesses thereto; and for the payment of the cost 16 of establishing and maintaining the same by the county wherein 17 said cities are situated," is amended to read: 18 Section 2. Houses of detention established under the 19 provisions of this act shall be under the care, management, and 20 supervision of a board of managers, consisting of six members 21 three of whom shall be appointed by the judges of the courts of
1 oyer and terminer, general jail delivery, and quarter sessions 2 of the peace, of the county wherein said house or houses are 3 established, and three of whom shall be appointed by the judges 4 of the municipal court of the city wherein said house or houses 5 are established. The board of managers shall hold meetings at 6 the house of detention no less than quarterly. 7 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. B23L64JR/19760H2167B2831 - 2 -
