AN ACT 1 Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania 2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the Pennsylvania 3 Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Paragraph (10) of section 902 of Title 51, act of 7 November 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania 8 Consolidated Statutes, added August 1, 1975 (No.92), is amended 9 to read: 10 § 902. General powers and duties of Adjutant General. 11 The Adjutant General as head of the department is responsible 12 to the Commonwealth and to the Governor for the organization and 13 functioning of said department, and the performance and carrying 14 out of all the duties, powers and responsibilities given or 15 delegated. In addition he is hereby authorized and directed to: 16 * * *
1 [(10) Make such bylaws, rules and regulations for the 2 management, general direction and control of the property of 3 the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home or homes 4 wherever situate.] 5 * * * 6 Section 2. Title 51 of the act is amended by adding a 7 section to read: 8 § 902.1. Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home; Board of 9 Trustees, Adjutant General, powers and duties. 10 The Board of Trustees of Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' 11 Home shall have general direction and control of the property 12 and management of the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home 13 at Erie. It shall have the power, and its duty shall be: 14 (1) Subject to the approval of the Governor, to elect a 15 superintendent of the institution, who shall, subject to the 16 authority of the board, administer the institution, and, if 17 deemed advisable, a business manager. 18 (2) On nomination by the superintendent, from time to 19 time, to appoint such officers and employes as may be 20 necessary. 21 (3) To fix the salaries of its employes in conformity 22 with the standards established by the Executive Board. 23 (4) Subject to the approval of the Adjutant General, to 24 make such bylaws, rules, and regulations, for the management 25 of the institution as it may deem advisable.
