AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," further providing for uniforms in
6 schools.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 1317.3 of the act of March 10, 1949
10 (P.L.30, No.14), added April 27, 1998 (P.L.270, No.46), known as
11 the Public School Code of 1949, is amended to read:
12 Section 1317.3. Uniforms.--The board of directors in any
13 school entity may impose limitations on dress and [may] shall
14 require pupils to wear standard dress or uniforms. Dress
15 policies may be applicable throughout the school entity or may
16 be applicable to one or more school buildings within the school
17 entity.
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
