A JOINT RESOLUTION 1 Proposing amendments to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of 2 Pennsylvania providing for compensation of members of the 3 General Assembly. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby resolves as follows: 6 Section 1. The following amendments to the Constitution of 7 the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are proposed in accordance with 8 the provisions of the eleventh article thereof: 9 That section eight, article two and section twenty-seven, 10 article three of the Constitution the Commonwealth of 11 Pennsylvania be amended to read: 12 Section 8. Compensation.--The members of the General 13 Assembly shall receive such salary and mileage for regular and 14 special sessions as shall be fixed by law, and no other 15 compensation whatever, whether for service upon committee or 16 otherwise. [No member of either House shall during the term for 17 which he may have been elected, receive any increase of salary, 18 or mileage, under any law passed during such term.] 19 Section 27. Changes in Term of Office or Salary
1 Prohibited.-- No law shall extend the term of any public 2 officer, or increase or diminish his salary or emoluments, after 3 his election or appointment.
