AN ACT
1 Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, prohibiting telephone access fees.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
6 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
7 § 2905. Access fees prohibited.
8 (a) General rule.--A public utility shall not charge an
9 access fee for long distance telephone service.
10 (b) Definition.--As used in this section the term "public
11 utility" means any person, partnership, association or
12 corporation, now or hereafter owning or operating in this
13 Commonwealth, equipment or facilities for conveying or
14 transmitting messages or communications by telephone to the
15 public for compensation.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
