AN ACT
1 Amending the act of July 12, 1972 (P.L.762, No.180), entitled
2 "An act relating to intergovernmental cooperation,"
3 regulating joint purchases and bids on such purchases.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The act of July 12, 1972 (P.L.762, No.180),
7 entitled "An act relating to intergovernmental cooperation," is
8 amended by adding a section to read:
9 Section 7.1. All joint purchases involving an expenditure of
10 more than two thousand dollars ($2,000), shall be made by
11 contract, in writing, only after notice for bids once a week for
12 two weeks in at least one and not more than two newspapers of
13 general circulation circulating generally in the joining
14 municipalities. All contracts shall be let to the lowest
15 responsible bidder.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
