AN ACT
1 Amending the act of February 1, 1966 (1965 P.L.1656, No.581),
2 entitled "An act concerning boroughs, and revising, amending
3 and consolidating the law relating to boroughs," providing
4 for membership in mayoral associations and authorizing the
5 payment of expenses relating thereto.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The act of February 1, 1966 (1965 P.L.1656,
9 No.581), known as "The Borough Code," is amended by adding a
10 section to read:
11 Section 704. Associations and Organizations for Mayors.--Any
12 mayor may join a mayors' association and borough council shall
13 pay reasonable dues, not to exceed twenty-five dollars ($25), as
14 may be fixed by the association for each mayor belonging to that
15 association. The mayor may attend the annual meeting of the
16 association, which shall be held in the Commonwealth in
17 accordance with the procedure adopted by the association. Each
18 mayor shall be allowed for expenses incurred in attending the
19 meeting an amount not exceeding fifty dollars ($50) per day,
20 together with twelve cents (12¢) per mile in going to and
1 returning from the meeting. The time spent in attending said
2 meeting shall not be more than four days, including time in
3 traveling to and from the meeting.
4 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
