        AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON GAME AND FISHERIES, HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, SEPTEMBER 20, 1995

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, requiring the Pennsylvania Game Commission to
     3     implement at least two junior hunter projects to increase and
     4     sustain interest in hunting.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Title 34 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     8  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     9  § 326.  Junior hunter projects.
    10     It shall be the duty of the commission to initiate, implement
    11  and administer two or more junior license hunter projects for
    12  the purpose of increasing and sustaining interest in hunting
    13  among young persons of this Commonwealth. One of the projects
    14  shall consist of at least two free hunting days for persons
    15  qualified to receive a junior hunting license under section
    16  2705(2) or (9) (relating to classes of licenses) and who have


     1  successfully completed the hunter education requirements under
     2  section 2704(b) (relating to eligibility for license). The
     3  commission shall establish the days, times and species which may
     4  be taken during the free hunting days. ONE OF THE PROJECTS SHALL  <--
     5  CONSIST OF A PENNSYLVANIA GAME COMMISSION PROGRAM SUBJECT TO THE
     6  APPROVAL OF BOTH THE GAME AND FISHERIES COMMITTEE OF THE HOUSE
     7  OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE GAME AND FISHERIES COMMITTEE OF THE
     8  SENATE. IF, AFTER 60 DAYS, EITHER OR BOTH THE RESPECTIVE
     9  COMMITTEES HAVE NOT ACTED, THEN THE PROGRAM WOULD BE DEEMED
    10  APPROVED BY THAT RESPECTIVE COMMITTEE OR COMMITTEES.
    11     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
