AN ACT
1 Amending Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, limiting the term of mayor in home
3 rule municipalities that are or were cities of the second
4 class.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 2962 of Title 53 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
9 § 2962. Limitation on municipal powers.

11 (b.1) Limitations.--Notwithstanding any provision of this
12 title or any other act to the contrary, no person may serve more
13 than two terms of office as mayor of a municipality that is or
14 was a city of the second class.

16 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
