AN ACT
1 Requiring the payment of interest on security deposits for water
2 service and providing for the return of the deposits to
3 customers.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Any municipality, authority or person who
7 supplies water to the public and who requires customers to
8 provide a security deposit shall pay interest on the deposit at
9 the rate of 5% per annum and, after 24 consecutive months during
10 which payments were timely made, the security payment and all
11 interest thereon shall be repaid to the customer.
12 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
