                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes exempting rural mail carriers from provisions
     3     relating to stopping on a roadway and the ban on the use of
     4     studded snow tires.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Sections 3351 and 4525(c) of Title 75, act of
     8  November 27, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania
     9  Consolidated Statutes, added June 17, 1976 (No.81), are amended
    10  to read:
    11  § 3351.  Stopping, standing and parking outside business and
    12           residence districts.

    14     (c)  Exception for rural mail carriers.--This section and
    15  section 3354 (relating to additional parking regulations) shall
    16  not apply to the driver of any vehicle which is used as a rural
    17  mail delivery vehicle provided the vehicle is appropriately
    18  marked and is operating the hazard light equipment.
    19  § 4525.  Tire equipment and traction surfaces.

     2     (c)  Tire studs.--[No] Except for vehicles used for rural
     3  mail delivery services, no vehicle having tires containing studs
     4  shall be driven on any highway.
     5     * * *
     6     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately or July 1,
     7  1977, whichever is later.
