AN ACT
1 Requiring the Department of Environmental Resources to establish
2 a committee to determine who shall receive grants for rat
3 control.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The Department of Environmental Resources shall
7 establish a Rat Grant Awards Committee to determine successful
8 applications for grants of money to control rats.
9 Section 2. In determining which applicants to award money
10 for rat control the committee shall use criteria promulgated by
11 the Department of Environmental Resources and shall:
12 (1) Give priority to existing, successful programs.
13 (2) Give priority to applications involving regional,
14 countywide or multijurisdictional programs.
15 (3) Give priority to applicants not eligible for Federal
16 funds due to low population density.
17 Section 3. The Pennsylvania Vector Control Association shall
18 be notified of meetings of the committee provided for in this
1 act and a representative of the association may be an observer
2 of the deliberations of the committee.
3 Section 4. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent herewith
4 are repealed.
5 Section 5. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
