AN ACT
1Amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, requiring public officials and public
3employees who use government vehicles to provide proof of
4holding a valid driver's license.
5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:
7Section 1. Title 65 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8Statutes is amended by adding a part to read:

22101. Definitions.
3§ 2101. Definitions.
4The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
5shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
6context clearly indicates otherwise:
7"Political subdivision." A county, city, borough,
8incorporated town, township, school district, vocational school,
9county institution district, and an authority, entity or body
10organized by any of them.
11"Public employee." An individual employed by the
12Commonwealth or a political subdivision.
13"Public official." A person elected by the public or elected
14or appointed by a governmental body or an appointed official in
15the executive, legislative or judicial branch of this
16Commonwealth or a political subdivision thereof.

21§ 2111. Proof of valid driver's license.
22A public official or public employee who operates a
23government vehicle shall annually provide proof to the
24respective governmental body or employer responsible for the
25vehicle that the public official or public employee holds a
26valid driver's license pursuant to the provisions of 75 Pa.C.S.
27Ch. 15 (relating to licensing of drivers).
28Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
