        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           NOVEMBER 18, 2004

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Declaring December 6 through 10, 2004, as "Dream Come True Week"
     2     in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, There can be no greater tragedy than the potential
     4  loss of a child due to a terminal illness; and
     5     WHEREAS, Granting a child who is terminally, seriously or
     6  chronically ill a chance to fulfill a dream is a philanthropic
     7  endeavor that is worthy of great commendation; and
     8     WHEREAS, Dream Come True is a nonprofit organization whose
     9  goal is to provide children who have a terminal, serious or
    10  chronic illness a chance to fulfill their dreams; and
    11     WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1984, Dream Come True has
    12  fulfilled over 750 dreams, and the organization currently
    13  fulfills 50 dreams a year; and


     1     WHEREAS, Dream Come True requests usually fall into the three
     2  categories of trips, contact with celebrities and special gifts
     3  such as computers, shopping sprees or a redecorated bedroom and
     4  are fulfilled using no government funding but only voluntary
     5  donations; and
     6     WHEREAS, Organizations such as Dream Come True that
     7  demonstrate the caring nature of the citizens of this
     8  Commonwealth deserve special recognition by all Pennsylvanians;
     9  therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare December
    11  6 through 10, 2004, as "Dream Come True Week" in Pennsylvania;
    12  and be it further
    13     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    14  Dream Come True, P.O. Box 21167, Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania
    15  18002-1167.
