A RESOLUTION 1 Declaring the support of the House of Representatives for US 2 Airways. 3 WHEREAS, US Airways has been a rich component of the 4 economic, commercial, cultural and social fabric of this 5 Commonwealth dating back to the days when it was founded as All 6 American Airways; and 7 WHEREAS, The dedication of thousands of US Airways employees 8 has contributed greatly to safe and reliable air transportation, 9 with unparalleled benefit to the economic development of this 10 Commonwealth; and 11 WHEREAS, These devoted employees have made tremendous 12 concessions to provide for the success and prosperity of US 13 Airways; and 14 WHEREAS, The accelerated evolution of the airline industry,
1 particularly in the wake of the events of September 11, 2001, 2 has contributed substantially to intense competitive pressures 3 for mature airlines like US Airways and further pressures for 4 employees; therefore be it 5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives, in recognition 6 of this difficult time for the US Airways employees, declare its 7 support for US Airways, US Airways employees and their families.
