A RESOLUTION
Designating May 12, 2016, as "Fibromyalgia Awareness Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Each year on May 12, "Fibromyalgia Awareness Day"
events extend throughout the world in an effort to raise
awareness and funds to help further support those with
fibromyalgia and other chronic pain illnesses; and
WHEREAS, Fibromyalgia is a common and complex pain disorder
that causes widespread pain and tenderness that may occur body
wide or migrate over the body; and
WHEREAS, Approximately 10 million Americans have fibromyalgia
and it occurs in people of all ages; and
WHEREAS, There is no cure for fibromyalgia; and
WHEREAS, "Fibromyalgia Awareness Day" celebrates the
successes of those who struggle with this condition, remembers

those lost to the disease and inspires people to take action
against fibromyalgia; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 12,
2016, as "Fibromyalgia Awareness Day" in Pennsylvania.
