AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
3 interest on judgments.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 8101 of Title 42, act of November 25,
7 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes, is amended to read:
9 § 8101. Interest on judgments.
10 Except as otherwise provided by another statute, a judgment
11 for a specific sum of money shall bear interest at the [lawful]
12 rate of 10% per annum from the date of the verdict or award, or
13 from the date of the judgment, if the judgment is not entered
14 upon a verdict or award.
15 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 90 days and shall
16 apply to judgments entered on and after such date.
