AN ACT
1 Amending the act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), entitled,
2 "An act consolidating and revising the Vehicle Code, the
3 Tractor Code, the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Act,
4 and other acts relating to the ownership, possession and use
5 of vehicles and tractors," providing for the department to
6 issue permanent registration plates for volunteer fire
7 company equipment free of charge.
8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
9 hereby enacts as follows:
10 Section 1. The act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), known
11 as "The Vehicle Code," is amended by adding a section to read:
12 Section 501.4. Permanent Registration Plates; Volunteer Fire
13 Companies.--Any volunteer fire company which applies to the
14 department for registration plates for company owned equipment
15 on a form prescribed by the department shall be entitled to
16 receive from the department, a permanent registration plate for
17 the equipment registered. This permanent registration plate
18 shall be transferred to other equipment only when the registered
19 equipment is no longer useful and the department is notified of
20 the proposed change.
1 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
