        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           MARCH 23, 2004

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of May 16 through 22, 2004, as "Emergency
     2     Medical Services Week" and May 19, 2004, as "Emergency
     3     Medical Services for Children Day" in Pennsylvania.

     4     WHEREAS, There are approximately 750,000 providers of
     5  emergency medical services in this nation who provide an
     6  essential community service every day; and
     7     WHEREAS, These emergency medical services providers are
     8  dedicated individuals who provide day-to-day lifesaving services
     9  on the medical front line; and
    10     WHEREAS, State and local planners across the nation are


     1  holding activities to honor paramedics, emergency medical
     2  technicians, first responders, firefighters and law enforcement
     3  officers during the week of May 16 through 22, 2004, and are
     4  designating the time period as "Emergency Medical Services
     5  Week"; and
     6     WHEREAS, Because there is an essential need for specialized
     7  emergency care for children, State and local planners are
     8  celebrating May 19, 2004, as "Emergency Medical Services for
     9  Children Day"; therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
    11  week of May 16 through 22, 2004, as "Emergency Medical Services
    12  Week" and May 19, 2004, as "Emergency Medical Services for
    13  Children Day" in Pennsylvania.
