AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for licenses.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 1504(d)(1) of Title 75, act of November
6 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes, is amended to read:
8 § 1504. Classes of licenses.

10 (d) Number and description of classes.--Licenses issued by
11 the department shall be classified in the following manner:
12 (1) Class 1.--A Class I license shall be issued to those
13 persons who have demonstrated their qualifications to operate
14 a single vehicle not in excess of 30,000 pounds registered
15 gross weight or any such vehicle towing a trailer not in
16 excess of 10,000 pounds gross weight. The holder of a Class 1
17 license shall not be deemed qualified to operate buses,
18 school buses or motorcycles unless the license is endorsed as
1 provided in this section. The holder of a Class 1 license who
2 is a member of a volunteer fire association shall be deemed
3 qualified to operate any of the vehicles registered by the
4 volunteer fire association.
