A RESOLUTION
1Recognizing October 7, 2013, as "Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness
2Day."
3WHEREAS, Trigeminal Neuralgia is characterized by episodes of
4intense pain in the face originating from the trigeminal nerve;
5and
6WHEREAS, The pain felt is the most excruciating known to man,
7which is why it is called the "suicide disease"; and
8WHEREAS, The condition is so rare that only one in 20,000
9people have it; and
10WHEREAS, The number of those affected may be higher due to
11misdiagnosis; and
12WHEREAS, Women are more likely than men to be affected;
13therefore be it
14RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize October
157, 2013, as "Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day."
