                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), entitled
     2     "An act concerning elections, including general, municipal,
     3     special and primary elections, the nomination of candidates,
     4     primary and election expenses and election contests; creating
     5     and defining membership of county boards of elections;
     6     imposing duties upon the Secretary of the Commonwealth,
     7     courts, county boards of elections, county commissioners;
     8     imposing penalties for violation of the act, and codifying,
     9     revising and consolidating the laws relating thereto; and
    10     repealing certain acts and parts of acts relating to
    11     elections," further providing for the form of ballot in
    12     certain special elections.

    13     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    14  hereby enacts as follows:
    15     Section 1.  Section 637, act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333,
    16  No.320), known as the "Pennsylvania Election Code," is amended
    17  to read:
    18     Section 637.  Conduct of Special Elections.--Every special
    19  election, held under the provisions of this article, shall be
    20  held and conducted in all respects in accordance with provisions
    21  of this act relating to November elections, and the provisions
    22  of this act relating to November elections shall apply thereto
    23  in so far as applicable, and not inconsistent with any other

     1  provisions of this act. When there is a special election with
     2  only one office to be filled, the form of the ballot shall not
     3  contain any separate party designation, but shall contain the
     4  name of the candidate and his party affiliation, if any, in the
     5  same block on the ballot label. All such special elections held
     6  at the time of a regular primary or November election shall be
     7  conducted by the election officers by the use of the same
     8  equipment and facilities, so far as practicable, as are used for
     9  such primary or November election.
