AN ACT
1 Authorizing prescriptions at nominal charge to senior citizens.
2 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
3 hereby enacts as follows:
4 Section 1. Definitions.
5 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
6 have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the
7 meanings given to them in this section:
8 "Department." The Department of Revenue.
9 "Senior citizens." Every person who is sixty-five years of
10 age or older.
11 Section 2. Prescriptions.
12 Every senior citizen whose income from all sources is less
13 than $9,000 or if married whose combined income is less than
14 $13,000 shall be eligible to receive prescriptions at a charge
15 of $1.00 for each prescription.
16 Section 3. Department's duties.
17 The department shall administer this act. The department
1 shall prepare application forms and identification cards and
2 shall have the authority to adopt rules and regulations in
3 carrying out the provisions of this act.
4 Section 4. Effective date.
5 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
