A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of April 21 through 27, 2019, as
"Infertility Awareness Week" in Pennsylvania in conjunction
with "National Infertility Awareness Week."
WHEREAS, As many as 15% of couples experience pregnancy loss
or difficulty becoming pregnant; and
WHEREAS, Age, genetics and medical history are factors
underlying male and female infertility; and
WHEREAS, In many cases, origin is unknown; and
WHEREAS, Managing depression, anxiety and related conditions
is a challenge of infertility; and
WHEREAS, Facing uncertainty and complex personal and
interpersonal reactions, alone or as a couple, is a challenge of
infertility; and
WHEREAS, Assessing consequences and costs of potential
treatment paths is another challenge of infertility; and
WHEREAS, A nonprofit advocacy organization--RESOLVE: The
National Infertility Association--spearheads "National

Infertility Awareness Week"; and
WHEREAS, Strengthening understanding, focusing advocacy and
directing resources are goals of this observance; and
WHEREAS, As policymakers and friends and relatives of persons
affected by infertility, we can further advance our outreach and
support for wellness programs and research; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
week of April 21 through 27, 2019, as "Infertility Awareness
Week" in Pennsylvania in conjunction with "National Infertility
Awareness Week."
