A RESOLUTION
Recommending that the Adjutant General of Pennsylvania request a
briefing with Federal officials in Washington, DC, to discuss
methods for this Commonwealth and the Department of Military
and Veterans Affairs to assist in responding to the violence
in the State of Israel.
WHEREAS, On October 7, 2023, civilian violence began in the
State of Israel by Hamas; and
WHEREAS, Since that time, the violence has continued to
escalate; and
WHEREAS, Like many others across the nation, residents of
this Commonwealth condemn this brutality; and
WHEREAS, As elected officials, it is our duty to do what we
can to find ways for this Commonwealth to help the State of
Israel and the Israeli people; and
WHEREAS, Since this Commonwealth is the nation's second-
largest natural gas producer, there are options available for
this Commonwealth to provide assistance to the State of Israel,
especially regarding energy and natural resources; and
WHEREAS, In addition to energy and natural resources, the

Commonwealth can offer assistance in a wide variety of areas,
including assistance through the Department of Military and
Veterans Affairs; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recommend that
the Adjutant General of Pennsylvania request a briefing with
Federal officials in Washington, DC, to discuss methods for this
Commonwealth and the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs
to assist in responding to the violence in the State of Israel;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recommend that
the Adjutant General of Pennsylvania provide a report of the
briefing to the General Assembly.
