                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Amending House Resolution No. 17, adopted April 9, 1985,
     2     entitled "A resolution appointing a select committee to
     3     investigate compliance with the Steel Products Procurement
     4     Act and other matters of State law relating to State
     5     construction projects," increasing the funding allocated for
     6     the select committee's investigation.

     7     WHEREAS, The House of Representatives on April 9, 1985,
     8  adopted House Resolution No. 17 of 1985, establishing a select
     9  committee to investigate compliance with the Steel Products
    10  Procurement Act and other State laws relating to State
    11  construction projects; and
    12     WHEREAS, The select committee has uncovered improprieties and
    13  possible violations of State law in the construction of the
    14  Capitol addition project, and desires to increase the amount of
    15  funds allocated to it to properly complete its investigation
    16  into these and other matters; therefore be it
    17     RESOLVED, That the fourth resolve clause of House Resolution
    18  No. 17 of 1985, adopted April 9, 1985, be amended to read:

     2     RESOLVED, That the committee is authorized to hire such staff
     3  and assistants as it deems necessary and the fees and expenses
     4  therefor and the fees and expenses incurred by the committee
     5  shall be paid from accounts under the control of the Chief
     6  Clerk, not to exceed [$50,000] $150,000; and be it further
