INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
MARCH 6, 2015
A RESOLUTION
Designating March 31, 2015, as "Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Day"
and congratulating Pennsylvania Farm Bureau members for their
contribution to this Commonwealth and to this Commonwealth's
agricultural industry.
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, formerly the
Pennsylvania Farmers' Association, was created November 24,
1950, to provide Pennsylvania farmers and rural residents with a
strong voice in government; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau represents 59,782 farm
and rural families and has 54 county farm bureau organizations
that are active in 65 counties in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has played an integral
role in development and implementation of legislation and

governmental programs that have had lasting and positive effects
upon the economic welfare of agriculture and agribusiness in
this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has been and continues
to be a strong voice for agriculture at the Federal, State and
local levels; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and its affiliated
charitable organization, the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture
Foundation, have been and continue to be effective at educating
this Commonwealth's residents about modern food and farming
practices; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate March
31, 2015, as "Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Day"; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend
congratulations and appreciation to Pennsylvania Farm Bureau
members for the contribution that they have provided to this
Commonwealth and to the economic welfare of this Commonwealth's
agricultural industry.
